I’d like to send my sincere greetings to everyone observing the Holy month of Ramadan.

This is a month which demonstrates the true spirit of Islam.

Muslims in Britain and around the world will sacrifice the day-to-day luxuries that we can take for granted, they will pray for people in need, and they will fast to show devotion to God and recognise those who go hungry in our world.



I am very proud to be Prime Minister of a nation in which people can freely practise their beliefs.

And it should be a source of pride to all Muslims that this month, even those living with extreme hardships will give up the little they have and pray for others.

Many will be praying for Muslims around the world. Those caught up in conflict, those who are seeking justice and democracy, or those living in the poorest regions on earth, who struggle to get by day to day.

As Prime Minister I am delighted that the British Government has been able to keep its promise to invest 0.7% of our gross national income on helping the world’s poorest and I am grateful that we have been able to partner with Muslim and other organisations to help those in need overseas.



Ramadan is a shining example of how humanity can come together in a positive way for a common good, and I pay tribute to all those who take part. 

To Muslims at home and overseas I wish you: Ramadan Kareem!

A large number of Muslims are being killed in Burma by Budisht , army and police of Burma as Muslims are in minority in Burma but silence of World Powers on this issue is a more worse crime.
Muslims are compelled to remain inside the country as internal refugees. They face abuse in the forms of rape, torture, extortion, and murder. 

Sexual violence and terrorizing thousands of Muslims women and their families.  The situation of the Muslim minorities is more complicated because they are not recognized as citizens and any scope of any reconciliation will not give them any protection.

The longer the UN Security Council remains silent, the more people will die
You and I can make that happen. Burma's Noble Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi has asked the international community for help. Tell the U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon to pass a resolution to stop the genocide in Burma. The clock is ticking. God have mercy on us all if we stand by and do nothing. 

United Nations must to find a way to solve the suffering of the more than a million Muslims in Burma. There is an urgent need for medical supplies and food aid.

The Tibetan Muslims

The Tibetan Muslims, also known as the Kachee, form a small minority in Tibet. Despite being Muslim, they are classified as Tibetans, unlike the Hui Muslims, who are also known as the Kyangsha or Gya Kachee (Chinese Muslims). The Tibetan word Kachee literally means Kashmiri and Kashmir was known as Kachee Yul (Yul means Country).

Owing to their small population, the Tibetan Muslims are scattered throughout Tibet, although many can be found in Lhasa and Shigatse. If those not living in the Tibet Autonomous Region are not excluded, ethnic groups such as the Balti and Burig, who are also of Tibetan origin and consider themselves to be ethnically Tibetan, who too are Muslims as well. These groups, however, are predominantly found in the Indian-controlled Ladakh and the Pakistani-controlled Baltistan.

The appearance of the first Muslims in Tibet has been lost in the mists of time, although variants of the names of Tibet can be found in Arabic history books.


In modern day, most of Tibetan Muslims are followers of the Sunni sect of Islam. Despite the factor of their religion, the Tibetan Muslims have comfortably assimilated into the Tibetan community, while following Islamic traditions. On the other hand, the Balti and Burig have partially adopted Afghan customs. The Balti and Burig peoples mostly follow Shi'ism and/or Sufism.
